Dr Bhavin Pitamber
Bhavin graduated in 2000 from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, with awards in General Medicine, General Surgery and Operative Dentistry. In 2007, he embarked upon a 4-year post-graduate program, which culminated in the post-graduate qualification, MSc in Clinical Periodontology.
Bhavin has undertaken extensive further training in the USA, Europe and South Africa and continues to allocate a significant proportion of his year to international conferences and congresses to keep abreast of current and future trends.
Since 2010, he has limited his clinical practice to his passions, namely periodontics and implant dentistry. Bhavin is particularly interested in plastic periodontal and peri-implant surgery, microsurgical periodontal plastic surgery, treatment of gum recession and regenerative and cosmetic periodontal treatments. Implant dentistry including advanced bone and sinus augmentation procedures form a significant part of his daily practice with growth factors and biomaterials routinely being used to optimise the outcomes of such treatments.
He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring colleagues who wish to further their understanding and develop their expertise in periodontology, dental implantology and regenerative dentistry.
Bhavin is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, European Federation of Periodontology and the British Society of Periodontology.
His philosophy of care is to always have his patients’ best long-term interests at heart, to work closely with his colleagues to deliver optimal care and to never stop learning. His family and friends are his moral compass, which inspires him to deliver care in a compassionate, dignified and ethical manner. When providing care for his patients he always begins by asking himself, “What would I do if this patient was a loved one?”
In his spare time, Bhavin enjoys cooking and baking, listening to podcasts and walking around the beautiful Surrey countryside with his wife.
